Something in the water!

Hey guys, sorry it has been so long, I have been really busy about it, over the next few days I will be blogging on my other blog about what I have been up to.
One thing I did do was go to London =]. I love London, but the water there really messes with my skin!
So when I came back my skin was really dried out and flakey, especially on my legs, face and my lips were really chapped too. =[ Does this happen to anyone else when they are in London?
Anyway I thought I would tell you what I was doing to re-moisturise!

Legs
I have been on an exfoliating kick with my legs. My legs have these red spots/ bumps on the top of them, this has been around for ages and not caused by London, but summer is coming, and I have committed to exfoliating regularly to see if these will clear. I am using the natural collection vanilla exfoliator, which smells amazing! =]

Feet and Hands
I have been smothering my feet and hands in vaseline at night and a lighter moisturiser, then I have been putting on gloves and socks and leaving it overnight. It works so well and my skin feels instantly more moisturised.

Face
As always I wash my face with the neutrogena 2 in 1 face wash and then put boots essential moisturiser on my face.
At night I take off my eye make-up with my simple eye make-up remover, with a cotton wool pad, before washing and moisturising.
I will occasionally put the clearasil rapid action treatment cream on spots.
As you an see I like to keep my skin care simple.

Lips
My lips are really cracked and dry so I have been putting on the blistrex relief cream each night which I would highly recommend! The only annoying thing is that it sometime too much squirts out of the tube =/.

Slowly my skin is recovering!

Waste Not Want Not... Vaseline

Lately I have been watching super-scrimpers on Channel 4, which is basically about saving money and cutting down on waste. As I am going to university in September I have already been trying to save on beauty products and trying to use up all the items lying around not being used.

One of the first things that sprung to mind was my vaseline. I used to have a bit of a vaseline obsession and so I decided to buy a huge tub of it (225g) instead of buy the little tins all the time. However I only used it on my lips and it was still pretty much full at the start of this year. I should point out that I haven't been using it constantly since I bought it, I have since moved away from vaseline on my lips.

Anyway I was thinking of ways to use it up and decided to put it on my heels, just to see what happened and it worked wonders!
So at night I smoother vaseline on my heels and toes and put a lighter moisturiser over the rest of my feet, then I put socks over the top. Occasionally I will do this in the morning, if I am wearing socks that day. Just a note is that it takes a while for it to sink in properly, so you need to leave your socks on for quite a while to let it sink in properly. =]

Another thing I do with vaseline is put it on my hands, in a similar way, at night, and put cotton gloves on top. =]

I also put it on dry skin on my face from time to time.

The final way I use it is occasionally I will put it on my eyelashes, under my eyes and on my eyebrows. I only do this at night as you do look a bit silly. But this conditions your eyelashes, keeps your eyebrows in place and I think the under the eyes thing makes you look more awake. =]

Anyway here is a photo of my pot at the moment, looking pretty empty.
Hope this is interesting, I think I will make a series of ways I am using up products and saving money =]
